Image
In memory of her parents Dr. & Mrs. C. E. Abernethy by Mr. & Mrs. James L. Truitt
The story of the birth of Christ is pictured in this window, second from the front left of the sanctuary. The Holy Family, Joseph, the Virgin Mary, and the child Jesus, is shown in a traditional pose; however, other parts of the Bethlehem story also are shown here. In the upper right corner the Star of Bethlehem appears with the shining ray which led the shepherds to his birthplace. The manger where he lay is represented by the head of an ox, as there were animals around the family when Jesus was born.

The wise men who came seeking the Christ Child are represented in the lower part of the window. Three small golden crowns are pictured to remind the viewer of the three who journeyed from a great distance to bring gifts of frankincense, gold, and myrrh. Also in the lower portion of the window, a larger golden crown represents Christ’s royalty.
