Hayes Barton United Methodist Church strives to be a community of faith where all persons can encounter, experience, and know the power of the Risen Lord. Celebrating our seventieth year, the church was founded in 1936; ground was broken in 1939 and upon completion, the doors opened with 306 members. The church has since grown into a 2600-plus member congregation and continues to grow each year. The people of HBUMC range in age from birth to 100-plus years. We invite all to join in joyful worship and celebration through the service we offer to God, as we strive to grow in our Christian Faith. In all that we do, may the glory be to God! |

Main Sanctuary Worship is an integral part of Christian life at Hayes Barton Methodist Church. Christ is praised; His word is heard; His love, comfort and grace is received through worship. Participants are inspired to go forth and live a daily Christian life.
Traditional worship services are Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The contemporary praise and worship service, called Lighthouse, is Sunday at 8:45 a.m. Special services of music, word and table are offered during Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter. Each worship service offers a children's message. Nursery care is provided for all services including pagers for parents of infants. |

Our Mission: Offering Christ, Community and Compassion In this congregation of the Body of Christ, we celebrate and share God’s grace through worship, ministry, fellowship, mission, Christian education and service. As humble servants called to faithful discipleship, we offer open hearts, open minds and open doors to all those in need. |

Our Vision: To live as disciples of Christ. We accept God’s call to know, experience and share God’s transforming love. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 |

A Strategic Mapping Team, consisting of 33 church members, was organized and charged with the task of discerning the path God intends our church to follow to fully realize our MVV. The goal of the Strategic Mapping Team was the creation of a map for HBUMC, clarifying our direction and guiding us on our journey, as a congregation and as individual disciples. The team produced the Strategic Map which was officially adopted by the Administrative Board on May 17th, 2006. |

THE VISION For years members of our church have envisioned a Columbarium on our church property. A committee engaged in two years of study and exploration before recommending that the first phase be located in the Prayer Room, the former Stone Street entrance into the Sanctuary. This quiet, peaceful area will be open and accessible for prayer, meditation, visitation and remembrance whenever the church building is open. |
