I grew up in 8 states, and have lived in 4 as an adult. My parents, who grew up in Minnesota, live in the west now along with 2 brothers and 1 sister. My twin brother lives in Lesotho in southern Africa.

Raleigh has been my home since 1984. I have two sons, Matt (29) and Zach (25), and was married for 26 years until 2000. I worked for IBM for many years as an engineer.

I was brought up in the Methodist Church, and as a teen and young adult explored other expressions of Christianity (fundamentalist, Pentecostal, non-denominational, campus ministries, and others). I returned to the Methodist Church in 1984, but try to be open to and gain from all authentic expressions of Christianity.

I have been greatly blessed by Disciple Bible Study, Walk to Emmaus, Hesed, M'n'M Singers, mission trips to Haiti, and being on the staff at HBUMC. I also work half-time for the Arc of Wake County and am blessed to work with people with developmental disabilities.

Defining Moment
The failure of my marriage was a defining moment in my life. God has been very good to me, and I trust that He is 'making all things new.'
