Our first perception of this literal text is very different from the bigger picture of what is happening in this encounter between Jesus and the Canaanite Woman. The outsider asks for an exorcism of her daughter’s demon. Jesus’ words may surprise us but the bigger picture is one of recognizing who Jesus is, why He came, who He came for and an example of Spiritual Healing. Sometimes bigger is better!
