Appointed to HBUMC July of 2004

I am a second career pastor after spending 20 years in the semi-conductor business (hard-ware). I have two daughters, one step-daughter and 10 grandchildren. I live with my husband Tim in Cary. I was born and raised in Ohio near the Ohio River in the foothills of the mountains between Pittsburgh and Wheeling.

I lived in Atlanta for nine years and Dallas Texas for four years before moving to Raleigh in 1994.

I started college in my 40’s and Divinity School in my 50’s. I know God has a sense of humor! I graduated from NC Wesleyan College and Duke Divinity School.

HBUMC is my 4th appointment. I was a part-time Associate Pastor at Hollands UMC in Raleigh for four years; Pastor in Charge in a two-point charge in Louisburg (Leah’s Chapel and Shiloh) short time; and Associate Pastor at Horne Memorial in Clayton for three years. Some find it interesting that all three of my Associate appointments have begun with an “H”.

I love music especially Christian music and Spiritual Formation is my passion. Children are joy in my life and I love to travel with my husband.

Defining Moment:
One of my defining moments was the moment I realized God was calling me to Ordained Ministry and my life would never be the same again. It was January 16th, 1992 in Glen Rose Texas. I did not want what God wanted and it was through God’s persistence and my prayer to put the desire in my heart that I was able to obey and follow through. My life has not been the same since! Fifteen years of process and now I can not imagine anything else. A pastor is who I am and I have committed my whole being. I love God more than life itself!
