Yogi Berra famously stated, “If you don’t know where you are going, you’ll end up someplace else.”
Over the next few months, we at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church will be deliberately listening, exploring, and discerning where we should be going as a church. We aim to develop goals and objectives for how to best be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Jeremiah 29:11 says: “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” The mission of the Vision Team is to determine our collective vision and purpose for how to best deploy our time, talents, and treasure.
We want to hear from you throughout this process. We'll be hosting listening sessions, beginning September 22, and into the beginning of October. We invite you to sign up for one of these sessions. We aim to gather as many voices and ideas as possible to determine consistent themes for how we should move forward.
Please pray for our church during this process, and ask that we effectively seek to hear and understand the movement of God in our community. Appeal for wisdom to divine the plans God has for Hayes Barton United Methodist Church.
We look forward to engaging with you on this journey.
