Ordinary Faith, Extraordinary Generosity

According to Jesus, being generous is a privilege. Giving freely of one’s time, talent, and treasure is not an obligation for the faithful, but an opportunity to share in God’s abundant love for creation. “We have this treasure in clay jars,” the apostle Paul once wrote, “so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us.” By sharing our gifts generously, we glimpse the generous heart of God.

Each October, our church celebrates the ways we serve and support our congregation, community, and world. You'll hear from your fellow members and our pastors this month on people and experiences that might seem ordinary, but are often extraordinary. And how extraordinary generosity makes a huge impact both within and outside our church walls. We hope you'll prayerfully consider your commitment to Hayes Barton and join us for Commitment Sunday, October 29 in all three services.
